very child witnessed it. Would you want to live in a traumatized world like that now? The 2 major characters Shane and Kelly, had to experience this situation with the rest of the kids in the world. Watching their parents and aunts get decapitated by wild animals, left them in dismay and all around traumatized. With no other choice, the kids could only seek refuge in each other.
