ropean colonial powers landed in the Americas at the same time, the Italians, the French, and the Spanish. Once they did, an area roughly resembling the contiguous United States was cut off from the world, enveloped in a strange energy that prevents anyone from coming in or going out. Inside The New World, some people will become "Fallen", which are beastly, grotesque monsters that were once human, and nobody knows how they came to be or how they operate.
