you step out of the airport, jetlagged and longing for a shower, but feel yourself waking up a little as the air that meets you is much warmer than expected, the smells of the world different here than the place you departed from. you get into the taxi and set off, looking out the window to watch the sun catch up with you, filtering through the trees quietly and unhurried, like it knows you can't escape anymore.
